FLORAL FANTASY: Alexis and Pierce

Imagine being married in a field of flowers. That was something that Alexis and Pierce imagined, but the reality was that being married at the beaux arts Julia Morgan ballroom in downtown San Francisco made it much easier for all the guests coming from both Cleveland and San Francisco to attend. It also made it much easier for everyone – all big Notre Dame fans – to watch the game during the wedding reception!

But we were able to provide a beautiful field of exquisite paper flowers we designed behind the sweetheart table. It provided the perfect backdrop for this social media savvy crowd to send out photos of themselves with the bride and groom.

The entire wedding ceremony and reception was just as the couple had imagined. And while not surrounded by a field of wild flowers, Alexis and Pierce were surrounded by friends, family and a whole lot of love. Oh, and that football game? Notre Dame won! A perfect day all around.

SHARING THE GOOD FEELINGS!

Many young adults getting married today want to have not only professional photos of the day, but they also want to include social media and crowd-sourced photos in the mix. According to the New York Times, many young couples are even employing a social media concierge who will ensure the day is documented on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

What we take from this is that it’s important to create a photo opportunity not only for the couple, but the guests. We helped Alexis and Pierce achieve this with a solution that was both classy, and totally shareable – a stunning flower wall.

Three great ideas to make your wedding more shareable

• Create a personalized hashtag that allows guests to label, share and find photos easily on Instagram. You can add this to the save the date cards before the wedding, and the menu cards at the wedding. We’ve even seen some couples create framed cards with the hashtag and place them on the tabletops and around the venue. Believe me, no one will need instructions on what to do!

• If you are traveling to San Francisco or the wine country for a destination wedding, consider live streaming the event back to family and friends who couldn’t make the journey. If you have created a wedding website – which is something many people are doing – they can easily find it online. Guests who were at the wedding can even share it afterwards when they get home.

• Consider every aspect of the wedding as shareable from the food, the flowers and the room décor. The more beautiful, lavish and unique, the better!
