A Classic Love Story: Olivia and Ryan at the Palace Hotel
Although she didn’t need them to prove that she was Cinderella to Ryan’s Prince, as Olivia slipped on her sparkling gold Jimmy Choos, it was clear that she was indeed a princess.
Or, at least she was for the day, as all brides are. But this graceful Texan blonde took our collective breath away as she finally glided down the aisle of the … what else? Palace Hotel, of course!
The setting was perfect for this fairy tale couple and the photographer captured Olivia and Ryan in both quiet moments, and with family and friends.
The weekend had begun the night before with a rehearsal dinner at notable local restaurant, Jardiniere. Orange roses, Ranunculus and pincushion Protea popped on the tables against the wood and exposed brick of the restaurant. Tables named after the couple’s favorite wineries.
The next morning, back at the Palace, the court was being assembled, literally by hair and makeup artist Armando Sarabia of Get Your Do Up. While that was happening, our team was creating the wedding space in the ballroom. Tumbling arrangements of garden roses, dahlias and dripping Phalaenopsis orchids mixed unexpectedly with succulents. A unique set up on the altar for the Catholic ceremony included suspended floral chandeliers and pedestals covered in gold cloth held the elements of the ceremony.
The flowers for the bride, the bridal party and the ceremony aisles were as big as Texas – the bride wanted a lush natural garden feel with unexpected touches and pops of deeper color.
Back in the Palace Hotel’s Gold Ballroom, the reception was awash in gold lighting, with accents of light over the sweetheart table and tall flowers on the tables. Local cover band Pop Rocks brought the house down before Gatsby Entertainment’s DJ rocked out to the end of the night as the royal princes and princesses held mock duals with hundreds of glow sticks.
Eventually, Olivia and Ryan had to leave the splendor of the Palace Hotel for their own home right here in San Francisco. But from we understand, they are living happily ever after!
