Sonoma Kunde Winery Wedding with Mirja and Max
There is always something magical about a wedding among the vines. Perhaps it’s that the art of wine making pushes all our romantic buttons – rows of green vines growing toward an impossibly blue sky, sun-kissed days turning to sunsets of supernatural shades of orange and burgundies, communal dinners filled with laughter and love, and of course the wine itself.
All this, and more, brought our couple, Mirja and Max to Kunde Winery in Kenwood. On their wedding day, the romance was in the air in the form of a soft sprinkling of mist in and among the vines. As they took their place beneath the chuppah that faced the vineyard hills, the sun began peeking out. The rabbi began the service, blessing the couple, the crowd, and a table linen that we added to the chuppah’s décor. This linen would become the family tablecloth for years to come.
As Mirja and Max turned to walk down the aisle, ready to meet the world as a married couple, the sun broke completely free of the mist, shining its light on the couple and the vintage Rolls Royce that waited to whisk them away for the traditional Jewish yihud -- a short time of seclusion and reflection post ceremony and the start of their life together as a couple.
When they returned to the reception, the winery was now completely in it natural splendor. And that is precisely why we love winery weddings!
